"Our superpower lies in knowing that we are the protagonists of our own stories. In believing in the possibility of surmounting the predetermined parts of ourselves to be more fully expressed.
To not just show up, but to arrive fully."
Daria Burke is a memoirist, speaker and award-winning business leader. A marketer by trade and a seeker at heart, she is a storyteller and sense-maker, weaving together personal experience and the science of healing to examine how we choose who we become.
The child of drug-addicted parents, Daria had a lot to overcome—and even more to process. Guided by the knowledge that what she was born into was not her fate, she rose above her circumstances and became a successful businesswoman and the best agent of her own wellbeing. As an adult, Daria dove headfirst into exploration of her own interiority and turn her trauma into a superpower. Along the way, she sought out the world’s best places for learning, taking Dr. Tara Swart’s Neuroscience for Business course at MIT and Positive Psychology and Well-Being at Stanford, taught by Dr. Daryn Reicherter, an international expert in trauma psychiatry.
After an early career in architecture and interior design marketing, Daria went on to spend nearly 20 years building iconic beauty and fashion brands at L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, Facebook, CVS, and most recently as the Chief Marketing Officer at JustFab. As a marketing executive, Daria has worked on partnerships with celebrity trailblazers including Tracee Ellis Ross, Kelly Rowland, and Ayesha Curry. In her role as CMO, Daria was named a 2020 AdAge Woman to Watch and 2021 She Runs It Game Changer. Her creativity and leadership have been recognized by Women’s Wear Daily, AdWeek, Forbes, Vogue, Teen Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Town & Country, The Cut, NYLON Magazine, and more. Her writing has appeared in Fast Company, The Huffington Post and Black Enterprise and on MSNBC, where she appeared on The Melissa Harris-Perry Show.
A distinguished alumna of NYU Stern School of Business (MBA) and the University of Michigan (BA), Daria was born in Detroit and now calls Los Angeles and East Hampton home.
